History and Development
The concept of a casino and hotel complex at the site of River Rock has been under discussion since the early 2000s. After several years of planning and development, the project broke ground in 2006 and officially opened its doors on November 28, 2004 (referred to as The Landing). To rectify this situation, River Rock Resort received its full service casino license from BC Gaming Policy Enforcement Branch in December of the same year.
